Biography
- Cameron Whittaker
BVSc, DVCS
DIRECTOR
Cameron graduated from Sydney University in 1989.
After spending time in mixed animal practice, he
completed an internship in 1992 at Sydney
University. In 1993 Cameron started a residency in
veterinary ophthalmology at the University of
Florida, and in 1996 he was granted Diplomate status
of the American College of Veterinary
Ophthalmologists. He then worked at the Ohio State
University as a visiting Assistant Professor. In
late 1997 he returned to Australia for family
reasons, and started to work with Jeff. Since that
time he has become a business partner in Eye Clinic
for Animals and worked for the Australian Veterinary
Association (NSW Division).
Cameron has co-authored 3 text books including
Veterinary Ophthalmology 3rd Edition,
Manual of Equine Practice 2nd edition,
and Veterinary Clinics of North America
–Ophthalmology edition. He has written almost a
dozen peer reviewed papers in a variety of
international clinical journals. Cameron currently
provides medicine and surgery lectures and practical
classes to students at the University of Sydney. He
voluntarily also provides his services to the wild
life at both Taronga Zoo in Sydney, and Western
Plains Zoo in Dubbo. Cameron has a special interest
in cataract surgery, glaucoma, corneal medicine and
surgery, and exotic animal ophthalmology.
His non professional interests are sport, especially
field hockey and cricket.
